CHANDIGARH, July 13: The mortal remains of Hav Raj Kumar were received here with full military honours before being sent to his native village, Masdhan, in Bilaspur District of Himachal Pradesh today.
Belonging to 22 Grenadiers, he had been killed during an artillery barrage in the Batalik Sector on July 11. He is survived by his wife, Prakasha Devi.
An honour guard reversed arms and buglers sounded the last post. Wreaths were laid on behalf on the Army Chief, Air Chief and Western Army Commander. Those who paid floral tributes included Chandimandir Station Commander Brig S.K. Sinha, Air Officer Commanding 12 Wing, Air Cmde S.K. Banerjee, N-Area Commander, Col Shakti Prashad and Commanding Officer Col K.K. Singh.
