CALCUTTA, FEB 12: Grandmaster Gregory Kaidonov (US) maintained his sole leadership with six points after the seventh round of 11th Goodricke International Open Chess Championship here on Saturday.

Kaidonov was held to a draw by GM Victor Korchonoi (Switzerland) as he relied on queen Indian defence to force a draw after 13 moves. Sandipan Chanda’s dream run was halted by Kazakstan’s Vladimir Evgeny who won after a six and half hour long battle compirisng 82 moves.
