A jeweller was arrested for criminal negligence which is suspected to have resulted in the collapse of a six-storey building in suburban Borivli last week. Sanjay Jain, who partly owned Vardhaman Jewellers on the ground floor of the Lakshmi Chaya building, was arrested on Sunday night in connection with the collapse that killed 28 people, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone XI) Makrant Ranade said. Sanjay’s brother Vinod is also shown as an accused in the case, he said.
