HYDERABAD, April 10: India discard Doddanarasiah Ganesh (5-74) rediscovered his bowling form to help Karnataka restrict Hyderabad to 283 in 126.1 overs on the second day of the five-day Ranji Trophy semi-final match at the Gymkhana here today.

Hyderabad’s hopes of a big score were dashed when, after resuming at their overnight score of 200 for three, they lost their remaining seven wickets for 83 runs in 36.1 overs. But off-spinner Kanwaljit Singh, in a mesmerising 11-over spell, dealt three quick blows to have Karnataka struggling at 125 for three in 52 overs.

It was 23-year-old Ganesh, wicketless yesterday, who hogged the spotlight in the morning. Pitching the ball up, he tasted success in the ninth over and shell-shocked the Hyderabad camp by capturing four wickets in eight balls.
