BANGALORE, June 17:Environmentalists have opposed Congentrix Energy’s move to begin work on the Rs 12-crore rehabilitation and resettlement colony even as the Union Government is yet to accord counter-guarantee for the power project. According to company sources, this would mark the first phase of the project. Dakshina Kannada Parisarasakta Okkoota, which is spearheading the agitation against the project, has opposed the move stating that it would mean violation of the law and the legal norms of the land.
