Case registered in car theft
The theft of a car, Ch-01-L-0479 from outside a residence in Sector 9 was reported to the City Police by Manveen Kaur of the same sector yesterday. According to sources, a case under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered, while investigations were on.
Two Bajaj scooters stolen
The Chandigarh Police have registered two cases of scooter theft during the past 24 hours. In a complaint before the police, Rajinder Kumar alleged that his Bajaj Chetak scooter, bearing registration number CH-01-J 3754, was stolen from Burail village. In another complaint, Gautam of Sector 38 said that his Bajaj Chetak scooter, CH-01-B 250, was stolen from the Sector 37 market. According to sources, cases under Section 379 have been registered and the police was investigating the matter.
Cheating case against MD
The City police have registered a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust against the managing director of a company on the complaint of a Sector 8 resident. According to sources, the complainant, Chand Kapoor had earlier alleged that the managing director of Sagar Tinco had cheated her of Rs 25,000. Investigations were on, sources added.
Two booked for trespass
A case of house trespass has been registered against Harpreet Singh of district Ropar and Mukesh of Himachal Pradesh on the complaint of O. N. Mathur. According to sources, a case under Sections 448 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against the two while the police was investigating the matter.
Cars collide
A car driven by a Sector 28 resident Labh Singh banged into two other cars near Ram Darbar after being hit by an unidentified Maruti car. According to sources, no one was injured in the accident.
