The Indo-Belarussian pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi lost in the doubles final of the $800,000 ATP event at Queen’s Club in Birmingham yesterday.
Bhupathi and Mirnyi, the third seeded duo, were beaten 5-7, 3-6 by Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyet of Zimbabwe. Bhupathi and Mirnyi had lost in the semifinals of the French Open to Paul Haarhuis of Netherlands and Yevgeny Kafelnikov of Russia. Leander Paes and his partner Tomas Cibulec of Czech Republic had also lost in the last-four stage at Roland Garros.
