Former New Zealand speedster Shane Bond today expressed his disappointment with the way the ICC was allegedly being dominated by BCCI and said it was time the world body took a stand.

“Every sport, whether it is football or hockey, has a governing body which decides the policy that should run the game. But in cricket, it’s very unfortunate that although the ICC is the governing body, it is being pushed around by the Indian Cricket Board. It’s high time the ICC did something about it,” Bond told PTI.

Bond, who stuck with the Indian Cricket League even after the BCCI-backed Indian Premiere League was launched, said it was important that the IPL’s benefits reached other boards as well.

“The rich profits earned by the IPL should reach the other cricketing boards too. It is important that the BCCI shares a portion of money with all other boards so that those boards can use it to develop more players,” he said.
