The Hyderabad police picked up two passport agents from Old City on Wednesday who reportedly helped Mumbai blasts suspect Mohammed Fahin alias Mohammed Osman secure a passport by furnishing fake documents.

After a tip-off from Mumbai police, Fahin was nabbed by Bangalore police on Monday while trying to flee to Dubai. According to police, Md Osman had obtained the passport in the name of Mohammed Fahin in 1977. Even as the police questioned Syed Osman, his relative, Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen city general secretary Maqbool found fault with the police for harassing the family members. Fahin was remanded to police till September 6 on Wednesday even as police said there was no evidence to suggest his links with the twin explosions. ‘‘There is no evidence as yet to connect him (Mohammed Fahin) to Mumbai blasts,’’ City Police Commissioner S. Mariswamy said.
