Ronit Roy, 59, recently opened up about his life, detailing how he has stopped thinking about acceptance in the entertainment industry. “Apart from the established production houses where I am respected, generally speaking, whether there is acceptance or not, I still don’t know. And I don’t think about it. It does happen. Some people are lone wolves. They don’t move in packs. I don’t move in a pack,” the Udaan said.
Having spent over 33 years in showbiz, Roy shared that he has consciously stayed away from pondering over acceptance and consciously embracing only three things in his life. “It’s been 15-20 years since I stopped. I don’t socialise much unless it’s important. I am happy that way. Teen hi cheezein meri zindagi me hai…meri family, mera fitness, and mera finance. Inn teeno ke alawa, aur kuch mein dhyaan nahi deta. (I have only three things in my life – family, fitness, and finance. Apart from these three, I don’t pay attention to anything else),” he told Hindi Rush.
Taking a cue from the actor’s admission, let’s understand how crucial the role of these three aspects is in one’s life.
In a world that constantly chases external validation, Roy has chosen to focus on three things: family, fitness, and finance. “His straightforward approach to life highlights how these three elements not only define personal happiness but also contribute to achieving long-term success,” said Dr Chandni Tugnait, psychotherapist, coach, and founder, Gateway of Healing.
Here’s why family, fitness, and finance are necessary:
Family: Family is the bedrock of emotional health. Having a strong family unit offers not just love but also a support system that is crucial when facing life’s inevitable ups and downs. “A supportive family helps you stay grounded, focused, and emotionally resilient, which are essential qualities for navigating the pressures of work and life,” said Dr Tugnait.
Fitness: Fitness is not just about physical health; it’s about discipline, mental clarity, and overall well-being. “Staying physically fit helps to stay energised and focused, enabling one to perform at their best both on and off screen. A regular fitness routine also instills habits of persistence and perseverance, qualities that are crucial for long-term success in any field,” said Dr Tugnait.
Finance: Financial stability is a significant factor in reducing stress and giving one the freedom to pursue passions without constant worry. Dr Tugnait said that having a secure financial base enables one to focus on their career and family without the distraction of economic instability. It allows one the peace of mind to make decisions that align with their values rather than external pressures, said Dr Tugnait.
Ronit Roy’s approach to life emphasises the importance of simplifying one’s focus to the essentials. “By prioritising these three areas, he not only finds personal contentment but also sets a foundation for sustained success,” said Dr Tugnait.
