A morning infused with healthy habits and positivity is bound to give a perfect start to the day ahead. Sushmita Sen believes in something similar as she keeps her mornings as calming and healthy as she is. In a recent interaction with Tweak India, the actor opened up about her morning routine.
“The one thing Sushmita Sen and we have in common? Our love for Mishti Doi. Discover how she infuses positivity and grace into her mornings, with soulful melodies and a sprinkle of gratitude,” the caption read.
On being asked how she likes to kickstart her day, Sushmita replied, “Warm water and nimbu pani with no salt or sugar. I like my mornings to be silent, except for the sound of music which I call moving meditation. So I have this habit of listening to one song on repeat. I like soul music.”
She added that she tries really hard to not touch her phone first thing in the morning. “I don’t always succeed,” the actor said.
As for her fitness routine, Sushmita said that it used to be pretty intense before her heart attack. “Because I usually had a warm-up of about an hour. Then I would train for two hours and I’ll cool down for 30 minutes. But given my wonderful heart condition over the last four months, it has come down to doing walking, a bit of yoga, lots of stretches, and just regaining my strength,” she said, adding that once she completes six months, she can go back to gymnastic rings.
She also shared the “magical secret” behind her flawless skin. “Well, it’s nothing really. I keep my face clean as much as possible. Unless I am working, I never wear makeup in real life. I wear lip balm in the morning. I like to wash it,” Sushmita said.
The Taali actor then elaborated on her dry skin routine. “I have cleansing milk because I have very dry skin. Post that, I apply toner, go straight for the moisturiser, and then sunscreen. Sunscreen is a must. Even if I am in a hurry, I’ll skip the serum but I will not skip sunscreen,” she said.
Opening up about her favourite Bengali breakfast dish, Sushmita said that it’s Mishti Doi. “I can have Mishti Doi and Sandesh on a regular basis, which is really unhealthy as an idea. They are made with jaggery. So it’s not really sugar but it’s so delicious. It’s also attached to my childhood memories of Kolkata,” she shared.
To keep herself motivated, she stays grateful. “I have a life filled with gratitude and that kind of keeps me on track,” she said.
Sushmita also shared one pet peeve that people might find surprising. “I hate liars and I don’t use the word ‘hate’ easily so that’s how much I don’t like liars. I love honesty and I don’t like isolation. My pet peeve is when people lack inclusion,” she concluded.
