While some people prefer starting their mornings on an energetic note and hitting the gym upon leaving bed, others like to take it slow and gradually revel in the dawn. Parineeti Chopra belongs to the latter category, as she admitted to starting her mornings with the sun. In a video shared by Tweak India, the actor opened up about her blissful morning routine.

“Step into the sunlit world of Parineeti Chopra in this episode of ‘Morning Chai’. From catching sunrises at 5.30 am (no matter the timezone!) to nixing the morning scroll, Parineeti spills her sunrise stories. Find out her ‘no-rules’ breakfast favourites and how a dash of meditation kicks off her days,” the caption read.

On being asked about the first thing she does upon waking up, Parineeti said, “I check the time. If it’s beyond 5:30 am, I get very depressed because I like to wake up super early in the morning. I cannot miss a sunrise so I have to wake up early in the morning. It has got nothing to do with working day or day off. In fact, I’ll have a very off day if I don’t see the sunrise.”

As for her breakfast, the actor said that it changes every month. “Sometimes, I could be having my South Indian breakfast or poha or avocado toast or even paratha sometimes in the morning. Then, there are some times when I am not having breakfast and lunch is the first meal of my day,” she said.

According to Parineeti, breakfast can be eaten at any time of the day. “I love eating breakfast for dinner also. So I could have avocado toast for dinner also. There are no rules,” she said.

She further shared that meditation is the best part of her morning routine. “Meditation is really the answer to everything for me. I was introduced to meditation by an Australian girl. I remember like many years ago and she just made me like meditate with her and it truly changed my life that day.”

Parineeti mentioned that you can do either a 2-minute session or a 20-minute session. “But it will change you. And it will change your life,” she said, adding that she is “actually a nerd about morning meditation and sunrise thing” so even when she’s travelling on a transatlantic flight, she puts the alarm.

“I will wake up. I will put the window up and I will see the sunrise. I am that person,” she added.

One morning habit that Parineeti would like to break is using the phone. “Whether you need to be updated with some breaking news, you will go to social media. If you want to read information about something, you will go to social media. If you want to read a review of the latest song, book or movie, you will go to social media. So, I want to change that,” she said.

On the contrary, one morning habit that she would like to continue is meditating. “And you know, get some fresh air in the morning. Look at the sun. Look at the day waking up. The world waking up. That I think just keeps me in a very great frame of mind,” Parineeti said.

As for her skincare routine, it is to rest, get lots of sleep, and be positive and happy. “And, it shows generally. The day that I am stressed, it shows on my skin,” she shared.
