Shri Krishna Janmashtami 2023 Wishes: Lord Krishna is one of the most celebrated and revered Hindu gods. Krishna Janmashtami, or simply Janmashtami, is the celebration of the birth of Lord Krishna, believed to be the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. This year, it will be celebrated on September 6, a Wednesday.

Janmashtami is celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm annually, especially in Mathura — the birthplace of Krishna and Vrindavan — the place where Krishna spent his childhood. Devotees gather to enact dance-dramas based on the life of Krishna. Many even devotional songs and hymns of praise. Some even fast through the day. One of the rituals followed on this day is people coming together and forming a human pyramid, known as dahi handi.

There are many interesting and detailed tales of Krishna’s life, which you can read about in books. Today, on the occasion of the Blue God’s birth, take a moment to thank him for everything positive that you have in your life, and pray for forgiveness for any of your misdoings.
