The highly-anticipated movie Barbie is all geared up to hit the theatres and just ahead of its release, Google has launched its newest easter egg feature in its honour.

Simply search for “Barbie,” the upcoming film’s director Greta Gerwig, or either of its stars, Margot Robbie or Ryan Gosling, and colorful starbursts will emerge – turning the whole Google results page a soft pink colour. You may now live in a Barbie world, at least in your Google searches.

Enabling the Easter eggs feature for these pages, Google, too seems to be celebrating our descent into a Barbiecore wonderland, by turning our screens and fonts pink, if not our lives.

Other than that, pink confetti-like starbursts also pop up on the screen, as if it were Diwali for all the Barbie-lovers out there.

Take a look at it here.

Pink celebratory bursts pop up when you type Barbie on the Google search engine.

For the uninitiated, this is not the first time Google has done something like this. It has previously added easter eggs to many of its products and services before this. It did this for the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, post-apocalyptic hit The Last of Us, and the word game Wordle.

Since the film acquired widespread exposure, it has fuelled the ‘Barbiecore’ fashion movement. Margot Robbie’s recent dress choices, particularly her red-carpet outings, have inspired followers who want to embrace the style.

Barbiecore, or Barbie-inspired fashion, calls for all things pink, from clothing to accessories and footwear.
