Cricketer KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty have announced the name of their baby girl. In a joint Instagram post on the cricketer’s birthday, the couple shared a candid picture of the family, writing: “Our baby girl, our everything. 🪷 Evaarah/ इवारा ~ Gift of God 🪷.” On Stories, Shetty elaborated on why they chose the name.
“Evaarah, V R, meaning Gift of God; Vipula in honour of her great nani and protector; Rahul, her papa,” Athiya, who became a mother on March 24, wrote.
The heartwarming post reminded us of Rahul’s 2024 interview with entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath, where he spoke about how Shetty’s presence has made him “more focused”. “No one can take the place of your partner. Having someone to go back home to who loves me, cares for me, regardless of my performance or what the people outside are saying, she’s my safe space, she’s my escape, she’s a lot of things. She keeps me grounded. Very lucky and very grateful. Just in general, I think relationships help you stay a lot more focused,” Rahul had said.
He also admitted seeing a lot of difference after Athiya came into his life. “I have been out of relationships and I played before I dated Athiya. I was single for a long time. I can confidently say that my mind would waver a lot more than it does now,” said Rahul, adding that stability makes a “massive” difference at work.
Taking a cue from this admission, let’s understand how a partner’s presence can bring more calmness and focus to one’s life.
Dr Santosh Bangar, senior consultant psychiatrist at Gleneagles Hospitals, Parel, Mumbai, said being assured that someone is by your side through ups and downs can lead to a sense of peace and stability, which aids your work and other priorities in life. Factors like communication, mutual respect, and creating a safe space help create deep connections and lead to more stability.
Relationships come with great responsibilities, as well as issues like disagreements, arguments, differences in opinions, unrealistic expectations, and trust issues. These can take a toll on a couple’s physical and psychological health. They can lead to feelings of frustration, which can impact other areas of life, including work. So, it is crucial to ensure you and your partner are on the same page when it comes to trusting each other, continued Dr Bangar.
Open and honest communication can help you and your partner bond better. “Sharing or expressing your thoughts, feelings, and concerns with your partner can significantly lighten up your mental load and reduce stress,” shared Dr Bangar.
