Actor-comedian Maniesh Paul, who has enthraled everyone with his hilarious comic timing and impeccable acting skills over the years, never fails to serve couple goals with his wife, Sanyukta. His Instagram feed is a testament to their endearing bond and he opened up about the same in a conversation with Humans of Bombay.
Maniesh candidly discussed how his wife is handling his popularity and the attention he receives from women as a famous actor-comedian. “I think it has been very organic for her. I am blessed to have a partner who is not insecure and doesn’t like to interfere in my work. She gives me that space,” he said, adding that his wife has always been very happy for him.
“She has seen the growth. She has seen the struggle. She has seen the journey. She has been a part of it. I didn’t struggle alone in Mumbai; she was with me. I came in 2005 and she joined me in 2007. I think we’ve seen everything together – from living in a small house to moving to a decent house,” he added.
Maniesh recalled how his manifestations regarding his home and car worked for him. “I keep saying such things. I believe positive thoughts make you. Not even a single person with negative thoughts wins in life. My wife and I have such great memories we share,” he said, sharing that the couple knows each other since kindergarten.
The 41-year-old then opened up about his wife’s dream of meeting Shah Rukh Khan. “I used to host PVR screenings in Delhi. As such, one day, I was hosting the screening for Devdas and SRK was going to come. So, she wanted to meet him. I told her that we can’t since he doesn’t know me. ‘How does it matter?’ she asked me. I said that I want to confidently introduce you as my girlfriend,” he said.
The dream came true when Maniesh was hosting Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Shah Rukh came as a guest. “He knew by that time. I told him my wife is with me. He asked where she is. He stopped the shooting and asked me to call her. Sanyukta walked in and she was shivering. Shah Rukh sir stood there with her for 5 minutes and talked to her,” he shared.
Further sharing moments from their relationship, Maniesh recounted, “I remember the time when she was my girlfriend and I had come to Mumbai. I wanted to propose to her. I remember purchasing a ring after saving money. She came to see me for two days and I proposed to her with that ring at Carter Road.”
While he wanted to propose to her, he was too shy to do it in front of people. “I looked up a secluded corner and hurriedly popped the question,” Maniesh said, adding that one must always cherish such moments.
