‘I’m so proud of my sister’, says Rhea Kapoor as Sonam Kapoor becomes first South Asian global ambassador for Dior

The Bollywood actor, famous for her roles in films such as Neerja, Khoobsurat, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, shared that she is honoured to be a part of Dior’s story as they continue to push the boundaries and redefine creativity and elegance in the world of fashion. “Each of their collections presents a truly unique vision with intricate craftsmanship, celebrating heritage in a way that deeply resonates with my own sense of style. This partnership is another step in the beautiful cultural synergy that has connected Dior and India over the years, and I’m excited to see where we take it next,” Kapoor said in a statement, reported PTI.

Talking about her long standing relationship with Dior since her film Aisha released, Sonam Kapoor said, “Dior and I were destined to partner together and I think Aisha was a huge milestone for our relationship to start on such a solid note. I have been a huge admirer of Dior since I started following fashion seriously and Rhea and I wanted to pay homage to our love for the brand, its philosophy and its impact on fashion in Aisha in which my character is dressed head to toe in Dior.”

“At any important moments of my life, Dior has always been a part of it. So, life has truly come a full circle for me with Dior singing me on as their first South Asian global ambassador! I can’t wait to celebrate the brand and its ethos and represent it in my country and globally. I understand the responsibility at hand and I’m thrilled about it. Dior understands my respect for its history and vision and I’m truly honoured by their gesture,” further revealed her statement.

Taking to Instagram, sister and fashion designer Rhea Kapoor shared a post with the caption, “The first South Asian Global Ambassador, I’m so proud of my sister and her immense impact on taking Indian fashion global with her love for fashion, passion for people who work in fashion and her respect for each and every aspect of the industry. Sonam Kapoor attended the Dior show at Paris Fashion Week a month ago in an all-black ensemble from their Cruise 2025 collection. Styled by Rhea, she wore a ruffled-sleeve maxi dress with a voluminous balloon hemline. A matching corset cinched her waist, and she paired them with a half-floral embroidered jacket and thigh-high PVC boots. Chunky silver statement earrings, a septum nose ring bought from Santacruz market in Mumbai, and a black netted mask adorned with pearls were her choice of accessories.
