The collection is inspired by escaramuzas - the traditional horsewomen of Mexico - who are known for their skills and the female characters from The House of the Spirits, the classic debut novel from Chilean writer Isabel Allende.
The Paris Fashion Week 2018 saw Dior's fashion director Maria Grazia Chiuri showcasing a bold collection, inspired by feminism. It was a visit to a place and time, almost half a century ago, where she highlighted the resistance culture amongst students of the 1960s.
Paris Fall-Winter 2019 Haute Couture Week is underway. While Chanel's new designer, Viard, unveiled her couture debut collection in Paris, Dior brought art to the runway as designer Kim Jones used a monumental plaster sculpture to inspire his architectural show. Armani Prive played with rainbow feathers, tulle, gems, and sparkles and Iris Van Herpen like always, presented hypnotic silhouettes.
Dior decided to pan out their show with a dramatic element and walking the ramp beside the models were horses. Ridden by Mexican rodeo drivers, the show was a tribute to strong women. Check out the pictures here.
