Students vandalise after being prevented from cheating

The students demanded that they be allowed to cheat and sit in a hall of their choice.

A group of students allegedly vandalised furniture after they were disallowed to cheat during the B.A. first year examination at a college in Nadia district today.

The first year students of Chakdaha College demanded that they be allowed to cheat and sit in a hall of their choice and abused invigilators when they disallowed it,SDPO,Kalyani Subhankar Bhattacharjee,said.

The students went on a rampage thereafter and broke benches and chairs because of which the college authorities had to call in the police to bring the situation under control,he said.

The examination was held subsequently,teacher-in-charge,Shibnath Bandopadhyay said.
