A statement released by the Special Task Force (STF) Sunday said that during a joint operation by the STF and local police, 9 were arrested in Lucknow and 4 in Prayagraj during surprise checks in various schools.
The elderly couple alleged that they have been getting incessant calls from people, seeking commercial sex workers after they filed a police complaint against the accused for allegedly cheating them of Rs 1.26 lakh.
BJP MLA Medha Kulkarni said that she has personally raised the issue with Vinod Tawde, who assured her that the matter would be probed. "It is completely unacceptable behaviour of the guards towards the girl students," she said.
STF claimed to have recovered 14 copies with answers written on them, from the spot. It further said that the bar code on the recovered copies match the college records. The STF also recovered a mathematics question paper and a mobile phone from the house.
The cyber crime cell of Pune police arrested the 28-year-old woman, identified as Kamini Ramtekkar alias Rinki, and her husband, Kishor (34), from Nagpur for allegedly duping at least 10 prospective grooms.
