Verify pulses stocks in ports, industry hubs: Centre to states

A statement issued by the Consumer Affairs Ministry said the meeting was a follow-up of the April 5 directive to states/UTs to enforce disclosure of stocks of pulses.

Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare asked the states Wednesday to enforce weekly stock disclosure of pulses by all stockholding entities and verify the stocks declared by them. It also asked the states to verify pulse stocks in warehouses located in major ports and in pulses industry hubs.

A statement issued by the Consumer Affairs Ministry said the meeting was a follow-up of the April 5 directive to states/UTs to enforce disclosure of stocks of pulses. “Stocks in warehouses in major ports and in pulses industry hubs should be verified from time to time and strict action should be taken on stockholding entities found to be reporting false information on stock disclosure portal,” the statement said.
