UCC: Uttarakhand Police to step up security during Assembly session

Earlier, the five-member expert committee  said it will submit UCC draft to the government on February 2. After the draft is submitted, it will be placed before the cabinet and later in the Assembly.

Uttarakhand Police have instructed officials concerned to maintain peace and ensure “flawless security” in their respective districts during the proposed Assembly session later this week. The directive comes amid the possibility of a few organisations staging protests against the presentation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill in the Assembly.
