Woman killed,6 injured in fire incidents in J&K

Separate fire incidents killed a middle aged woman and injured six in Kishtwar and Jammu districts.

A middle aged woman died and six others were injured in separate fire incidents in Kishtwar and Jammu districts of J&K,police said on Wednesday.

Fire broke out in the house of Akbar in remote Kuchhal area of Kishtwar district late last night and spread to three other houses,Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP),Kishtwar Bhim Sen Toti said.

In the fire,one woman Jeena Begun was burnt alive,he said adding that four others received minor burn injuries. Twelve cattle also perished in the incident,he said.

In another incident,a cylinder exploded last night during filling of gas into a car in Bakshi Nagar area of Jammu city resulting in fire,police said.

Chander Prakash (shop owner) and Tarseem received burn injuries and two shops and a car were gutted in the fire,they said.

The injured were hospitalised,they said.
