Police arrest 3 cheats posing as Yeddy relatives

The trio was arrested on the basis of complaints lodged by one Shridhara Murthy.

Police arrested three persons,who posed as relatives of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa,involved in cheating people by promising them government jobs and plots,and taking a huge sum of money in return.

Mahadevaiah (35),Venkatesh (53) and Krishnappa (50) were arrested on the basis of complaints lodged by one Shridhara Murthy,from whom they took Rs 11.65 lakh,promising sites under “G” category (government quota) in different names,a city crime branch statement said.

They had done so by using a duplicate letterhead of the Chief Minister allegedly with the help of Vidhana Soudha (secretariat) staff,it said.

Police said a sum of Rs 1.5 lakh were recovered from the arrested.
