Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Sunday asked the people of Rajasthan to vote wisely in the upcoming Assembly polls or else they would end up hurting their interests.
Addressing the launch of Indira Rasoi Yojana (Rural) in Niwai in Tonk district, Priyanka said, “This election is not a race between two political parties, but about your future. The biggest question is who is ready to give you your rights. And I can say with certainty that in the last eight years, the BJP has taken away your rights again and again.”
“You are facing problems daily… so this time, give your vote wisely. As soon as the BJP government returns to Rajasthan, all these schemes will be closed. All the good work done by the Congress government will be stopped,” she said, adding that if the people do not vote wisely, they will end up harming themselves.
She also attacked the Modi government over inflation and accused it of waiving loans worth thousands of crores of his “industrialist friends.”
“The Prime Minister, who used to call himself a bhumi-putra (son of the soil), now moves in a cavalcade worth crores (of rupees),” she said.
“Today morning I saw that the G20 meeting venue was inundated. Something came to my head then, that the Lord has said what our countrymen cannot say out of fear, that lower your arrogance, this country has made you, so keep the people in the front,” she said.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said labourers, students and working people are getting nutritious food at just Rs 8 due to the opening of Indira Rasois. He said the government is continuously working to fulfil its resolution of ‘no one sleeps hungry’ and hence, Indira Rasoi is being expanded to rural areas.
