Train cancellations: Indian Railways (IR) has cancelled the operation of over 30 trains, while seven others will be short-terminated and short-originated due to yard remodeling work at Shalimar station in West Bengal. The remodeling work is necessary to ensure safe and improve train operations. The Shalimar station falls under the administrative control of South Eastern Railway‘s Kharagpur Division.
In a statement, the zonal railway said: “In connection with the yard remodeling work of Shalimar station in Kharagpur division of South Eastern Railway, the following coaching trains will be repercussed. A total of 32 trains will remain cancelled. A total of 7 trains will be short terminated/short originated.”
