A new video emerged Tuesday where local Shiromani Akali Dal leader, Lucky Goyal was seen firing a 0.32 bore gun in the air and, thereby, killing 25-year-old dancer, Kulwinder Kaur at a wedding in Bathinda last week. The clip shows one of his friends loading the gun and handing it over to Lucky, who then fires it in the air. However, Lucky drops the weapon after losing control of it, possibly due to the gun’s recoil. He had his back facing to the stage on which Kaur was performing with other dancers. The bullet hits Kaur in the head, killing her on the spot. Police have recovered recovered a 0.32 bore revolver and 0.12 gun belonging to Lucky’s friend Sanjay Goyal from the venue.

All the four accused in the case, including Lucky and Sanjay, were arrested by Bathinda Police. Kaur’s husband Rajinder Singh, according to the FIR lodged by police, alleged that a few drunk persons were trying to come on stage and dance with the girls while those managing the stage tried to stop them. Later, one of them shot at Kulwinder. Celebratory firing is banned in Punjab and Haryana and the onus falls on the host to ensure that none of the guest are carrying weapons or firing them in the air.
