Poonch video leaked to instil fear in people: Mehbooba Mufti
Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Dil aur Dilli ki doori khatam karni hai” a rhetoric, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti said by putting her under house arrest, the government wanted to send a message that people of Jammu and Kashmir had “no voice and no one who will enquire about them”. “By arresting me, they (government) want to send a message that people of J&K have no voice and no one who will enquire about them,” she said on Monday.
Alleging that the government is treating people as the enemies of the state, Mehbooba said the video showing Army men allegedly torturing civilians in Poonch was leaked to instil fear in people. She was put under house arrest as she was planning to visit Surankote in Poonch.
