NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Thursday announced that the next meeting of Opposition parties will be held in Bengaluru on July 13-14.
In the previous meeting held in Patna on June 23, it was decided that Opposition parties would meet next in Shimla. As many as 32 leaders from the 15 parties had backed unity to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Sources said JD(U) supremo and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish, who put together the meeting, told the leaders that many more smaller parties — at least 10 in his estimation — will join the Opposition camp closer to the 2024 elections.
Following the first meeting of the Opposition parties to forge a common front against the ruling BJP for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Patna on June 23, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, while addressing a press meet, said that all the leaders have agreed to fight unitedly against current regime in the Centre. This came despite differences between AAP and the Congress during the meeting, where the former made it clear that it would be “very difficult” for it to be part of an alliance until the Grand Old Party denounced the Centre’s ordinance in Delhi.
Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah today accused opposition leaders, who had attended the June 23 meeting in Patna, of being involved in scams worth over Rs 20 lakh crore. Taking on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who organised the meeting, Shah said the people of the state will give a “befitting reply to corrupt leaders” in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
