Lok Sabha witnessed a ruckus on Wednesday as members sparred over the controversial remarks of DMK leader D N V Senthilkumar, leading to an abrupt adjournment of the proceedings.
When DMK leader T R Baalu stood up to raise a supplementary on the PDS during Question Hour, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi asked him to apologise for the remark made by Senthilkumaron Tuesday.

Joshi was soon joined by Union Food and Consumer Minister Piyush Goyal and other BJP MPs seeking an apology from the DMK leader. The Opposition MPs from the DMK and Congress stood up to protest.
“You are a senior minister, you should not be creating issues in Parliament,” Baalu was heard saying. “You should not be a troublemaker, you should be a troubleshooter,” Baalu also told Goyal.
The Opposition members ran to the front of the seats and shouted at the treasury benches.
Both Goyal and Joshi said the Opposition was trying to create a divide between the South and the North, a charge vehemently protested by them. Speaker Om Birla then adjourned the proceedings till 12 noon.
DMK’s Dharmapuri MP Senthilkumar triggered a controversy on Tuesday over his remarks on Hindi-speaking states. The remarks were later expunged from Parliament records.

He had made the comment while speaking on the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023. The MP has apologised on his social media handle on X for the remark.
