No significant change in Chinese activities on border: Govt

Defence Minister A K Antony said that that issue of incursions was taken up with Chinese authorities through established mechanisms such as Hot-lines,border meetings and normal diplomatic channels to maintain peace.

Government on Monday said there has not been any significant change in Chinese activities along the Indian border in last few years and there was no commonly marked Line of Actual Control between the two countries.

“There is no commonly delineated LAC between India and China and there has not been any significant change in the Chinese activity along LAC over the last few years,” Defence Minister A K Antony said in reply to a Lok Sabha query.

The Minister added that issue of incursions was taken up with Chinese authorities through established mechanisms such as Hot-lines,flag meetings,border meetings and normal diplomatic channels to maintain peace.

Meanwhile,replying to another query,Antony said Rs 6.46 crores was outstanding against the dignitaries who are entitled to use defence aircraft and helicopters.

These dignitaries include the President,Vice president,Prime Minister,Deputy Prime Minister,Defence,Finance and other Ministers of the Central government along with Cabinet Secretary and the three Services chiefs.
