Bihar court issues warrant for attaching Thackeray’s property

A Bihar court on Monday ordered attachment of properties of Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray for having failed to appear in connection with a complaint case charging him with publishing a ‘contemptuous’ article in Sena mouthpiece ‘Samana’.

Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate,Ara,S B M Tripathy ordered issue of warrant for attachment of properties of Thackeray in connection with a complaint lodged by Rajesh Kumar Singh,Advocate on March 7,2008.

Singh alleged that Thackeray published the article in ‘Samana’ which had hurt the sentiment and feelings of ‘crores of Biharis’.

The attachment order was issued following successive ‘failure’ of the Sena supremo to appear before the court to explain his position in compliance with summons on several occasions earlier.
