Kathua Cloudburst Update: Indian Railways (IR) has regulated the operations of several trains following a cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, disrupted services along the Jammu–Pathankot rail line.

Kathua Cloudburst, Train to Jammu and Kashmir:Indian Railways (IR) has regulated the operations of several trains following a cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, disrupted services along the Jammu–Pathankot rail line. The train operations in the region is managed by the Jammu Division of Northern Railway (NR).
“Due to heavy rainfall over Jammu Division, several trains have been short-terminated/short-originated. The water level at bridge number 43 is beyond danger mark over Jammu Division,” said Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Northern Railway in a statement.

The cloudburst hit Jod Ghati village of Rajbagh during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, snapping access to the village and causing damage to land and property. The cloudburst in Kathua came three days after flash floods triggered by cloudburst struck Chisoti village in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on August 14.
