A total of 93 functionaries from 15 organisations are all set to meet in the national Capital for a three-day samanway baithak (co-ordination meeting), starting Wednesday, organised by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to discuss “all matters concerning the society”.
Till last year, this bi-annual event, which the RSS describes is to “exchange notes”, comprised 60 functionaries from eight organisations. But with the Bharatiya Janata Party coming to power at the Centre last year, the meeting has grown to include 93 functionaries.

Issues including the latest Census figures and OROP are likely to come up for discussion during the exercise, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to attend. RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat will be present through all the three days.
Playing down reports that the functioning of the Modi government will also come up for discussion during the meeting, RSS spokesperson Manmohan Vaidya said, “This meeting is not meant to review the government’s work or take a decision.”
Vaidya also answered in the negative when asked whether the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls would be discussed.
Prominent organisations that will participate this year include BJP, Bhartiya Kisan Sangh, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Vidya Bharti and the RSS itself.
These are called Jan Sangathan in RSS parlance. The participants will include 25 prominent central leaders of the RSS.
Vidya Bharti, a non government education organisation, is expected to talk about its inputs towards the proposed New Education Policy of the government to change the present education system from “KG to University” level.
Asked if the latest Census figures will be discussed, Vaidya said a discussion on the topic may take place.
