In the backdrop of the phone-tapping row between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Supreme Court on Thursday said that the inter-state rivalry has forced cellular operators “to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea”.

A bench led by Justice Vikramjit Sen regretted that the telecom operators appear to be caught in crossfire between the two governments and said the telecom firms should comply with the orders of the courts, which would take care of their interests.
