A minor girl was raped allegedly by her neighbour in central Delhi who was arrested today after escaping from police custody yesterday.
The incident was reported from Hauz Qazi yesterday afternoon and the accused Ramanand,hailing from Begusarai in was Bihar,was caught by locals and handed over to investigators.
But he managed to escape from police custody while he was taken to LNJP Hospital for medical examination.
The seven-year-old girl,who was playing outside her residence with her brother,was allegedly lured by Ramanand,who took her to the roof of his rented accommodation where he raped her.
The incident came to light when the victim’s father,a tailor,started looking for her. He saw the girl coming down from Ramanand’s house crying and she narrated the incident to her father.
Ramanand,meanwhile tried to escape from the spot,but was caught by the tailor and some neighbours.
