A gunbattle on Monday broke out between security forces and militants in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir,police said here on Monday.
Intermittent firing took place when militants opened fire on a joint party of police and security forces in Kandi area of Rajouri district in wee hours this morning,they said.
The security forces also retaliated,they said. The gunfight lasted for about two hours.
However,the militants later fled away under the cover of darkness.
The troops have launched a search operation in the area to nab the militants,they added.
