There are more female voters than male ones yet again in Mizoram, the latest electoral rolls released on Thursday show, with the voter sex ratio currently at 1000 males: 1040 females.

In all, 29 out of 40 assembly constituencies have a higher ratio of female voters.

Mizoram has over the years always had more female than male voters although the current 40-seat assembly has just one female legislator, that too after a 27 year gap.

The overall voting population of the state has meanwhile increased by 2.19 percent to reach 7,13,574 voters.
