Dalit employee accuses boss of rape attempt in Lucknow

Police on Wednesday registered a case against UP Groundwater Department Director M M Ansari after a Dalit woman colleague lodged a rape attempt case against him.

Police said a case was registered against the officer based on the complaint of the class-IV employee of the same department. The woman had lodged a complaint on January 5 at Hazratganj police station.

Meanwhile,her husband lodged a complaint alleging that he received a call demanding withdrawal of the case.

The incident has turned out to be the latest in a series of criminal cases allegedly committed by senior government officers and politicians in Uttar Pradesh.
