Bypoll to AP Council seat on August 21

The last date for withdrawal of nominations is August 14 and the polling would take place on August 21, the release said.

The bypoll to fill the single vacancy in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council would be held on August 21.

The notification for the bye-election would be issued on August four and the last date for making nominations is August 11, a release from the office of state Chief Electoral Officer said.

Their scrutiny would take place the next day, it said. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is August 14 and the polling would take place on August 21, the release said.

The counting of votes would be taken up on August 21 itself at 5 PM.  The vacancy from the MLAs constituency of the Council is caused by the resignation of Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy (Congress).

The ruling TDP is expected to bag the seat, given its majority in the Lower House of the Legislature.
