Haryana Janhit Congress supremo Kuldeep Bishnoi on Monday filed an application in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking directions to get the court summons against Haryana MLA Zile Ram Sharma in the MLA defection case,served through newspapers. Bishnois counsel averred that Zile Ram Sharma has been avoiding the court summons despite 10 attempts to serve them to him. Sharma,who is also charged with abetment to suicide,had surrendered before a Panchkula Court last week. At present,he is in judicial custody.
Bishnoi had petitioned the high court against the order passed by Haryana Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Sharma in January wherein the Speaker had quashed the disqualification petitions against five Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) MLAs,who joined the Congress to help Bhupinder Singh Hooda form the government in 2009.
The other defector MLAs are Satpal Sangwan,Dharam Singh Chhoker,Rao Narender Singh (cabinet rank holder) and Vinod Bhyana (chief parliamentary secretary). Bishnoi had moved the high court against the Speakers order impleading Sharma and other defector MLAs as respondents. The court will decide the applications fate on September 25.
