The Crime Branch of Pune city police has arrested two persons in possession of fake Indian currency notes (FICN) notes of Rs 80,000. The suspects have been identified as Ramzan Barik Shaikh (26) and Rezarul Shaikh alias Alikhan Nasruddin Shaikh (20), both natives of Murshidabad in West Bengal and currently residing in Masjid Bandar, Mumbai.

The increasing number of incidents of circulation of fake Indian currency notes (FICN) in Pune is turning out to be a worry for investigators. Even after arrests in the past, new persons are found involved in the fake currency ring, which is suspected to be strengthening in the city.

Police recovered 80 FICN of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 denomination from the duo.
