The main accused in the case,Nishan Singh,turned 18 just a couple of months ago and has close to 17 criminal cases against him,including that of murder. Police said the boy has been involved in criminal activities since he was sixteen. DIG Paramraj Singh Umranangal says: I was posted as SSP Faridkot in 2008-09 and even then he had this gang and everything. He did get arrested in a few cases but being a minor,he escaped with lighter sentences. Nishan reportedly lost his father at a very young age and was living with his mother in Faridkot.
