The Air India flight AI 3821 was, reportedly, a chartered flight carrying security personnel. The tyre burst, officials said, causing a “groove” on the runway thus making it unsuitable for landing or take-off.

Officials said that the passengers and crew members had a narrow escape but all of them were safely evavcuated.

“All the flights had to be cancelled,” Director Airport Authority of India, Srinagar Rajesh Shinde told The Indian Express. “The runway is being repaired. A groove has got created at the spot”.
