Director-producer Karan Johar chose not to react to the criticism levelled against him over his comments on ‘intolerance’ at the Jaipur Literature festival.

Speaking after the special screening of Hansal Mehta’s Aligarh, Karan Johar said, “We must take all kinds of opinion, criticism and feedback in the right way. If I have an opinion you could either agree with it or not agree with it. It is my prerogative to have an opinion. It is your prerogative to agree or disagree. I firmly believe in that.”

Karan Johar added that he had nothing to elaborate and said everything he had to say at the festival.

“We are in a tough country and to speak about one’s personal life in today’s time can land you in jail,” the director-producer said at the ninth edition of the Jaipur Lit fest.

His comments whipped up quite a storm with many criticising the filmmaker. Director Prakash Jha too took a swipe at Karan Johar saying that intolerance was in his state of mind and not in the country.
