Govt: education in anganwadis from this year

Women and Child Development Secretary Indevar Pandey Thursday said the ministry would be funding early childhood care and education through anganwadi centres across the country from this year.

The anganwadi centres focus on battling maternal and child mortality and malnutrition.

Pandey said the ministry is planning to organise a workshop next month “for working out the framework’’ for the curriculum.  He was speaking at the Early Childhood Care and Education conference organised by Rocket Learning, an edtech non-profit working with the government.
