Education Quality Foundation of India (EQFI) announced the winners of the EQFI India Education Awards.
India Education Awards are being supported by Educomp Solutions Ltd. These awards are an effort to ensure that quality in education is brought into focus. It seeks to reward excellence in education,motivate educators and provide a platform to showcase leadership in the education sector.
At a glittering ceremony held at the Park Hotel here in New Delhi,Chairman of CBSE,Vineet Joshi gave away the awards to 22 national winners in presence of luminaries from the field of education.
EQFI received a total of 10,632 applications nationally,from private and government schools across urban and rural segment. Winners were selected after close scrutiny and in-depth evaluation by an eminent jury comprising some of the most respected names in the field of education like Dr. M. A. Siddiqui,Chairperson,National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and Former Dean,Department of Education,Jamia Millia Islamia,Subhash Khuntia,IAS,Joint Secretary,Ministry of Human Resource Development,School Education,Government of India,Dr. G. L. Arora,Former Head,Department of Teacher Education,NCERT and Former Director,SCERT,Dr. Kanta Vadhera,Head School Education,British Council,Dr. A. K. Sharma Former Director. NCERT and Dr. Neerja Sharma,Associate Professor,Lady Irwin College,University of Delhi.
India Education Awards (IEA) covers schools from all sectors i.e. Government and Private from across India. Over 60 awards in all were given across broad categories including Teachers Awards,School Leaders Awards,Whole School Awards and NGO Awards in the area of education. These awards are a combination of technology support by providing laptops,education grants and opportunity for Professional development with renowned global institutions.
