Claiming that the BJP and RSS disrespected Dr B R Ambedkar, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday asked PM Narendra Modi as to who had burnt copies of the Constitution — along with the photographs of Mahatma Gandhi, then PM Jawaharlal Nehru and Law Minister B R Ambedkar — when it was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on January 26, 1950.

At a rally at Jasrota in Kathua district, Kharge said: “Where was the love you are showing for the Constitution today when you burnt it, along with the photographs of Mahatma Gandhi, Pt Nehru and Ambedkar.”

Accusing the BJP of misleading people through lies, he said the party leaders first promised 2-crore jobs every year and now they are talking of 5 lakh jobs to the youth in J&K. “Why have you not filled the existing 1 lakh vacancies in J&K despite having been in power for 10 years.’’

He alleged that Modi was only cutting ribbons on completion of projects initiated during the UPA rule.
