School Holidays 2025: Winter vacations extended in Jammu and Kashmir

School Holidays 2025: The School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has extended the winter vacations for students. The development is taken due to weather conditions in the valley. Schools in the valley will remain closed till March 6, up to higher secondary level.

Schools will now resume from March 7. Earlier, the schools would have been resumed from March 1.

“The winter vacations declared vide Government Order No.521-JK(Edu) of 2024 dated 06.12.2024 for all Government/Private Schools upto higher secondary level of Kashmir Division and winter zone(s) of Jammu Division are hereby extended upto March 6th, 2025. The schools shall now reopen on March 7th, 2025 instead of March 1, 2025,” read the notification.

Particularly in the North India belt, the winter vacations have been concluded in January. In March, students will also get holidays on Holika Dahan, Holi, Gudi Pawda and Eid-ul-Fitr.
