DTE Goa to use JEE scores for engineering admission; NEET scores for pharmacy

For admission to BPharm or the pharmacy programmes in institutes at Goa, the best aggregate score in physics and chemistry either at JEE Main 2024 and NEET UG will be considered.

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa will use the JEE Main and NEET UG scores to admit candidates to its engineering and pharmacy programmes. Earlier, admission to engineering courses in the technical institutes in Goa was also made through Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET). 

“Admissions to Engineering B.E. Degree courses in the State of Goa in the year 2024-25 shall be carried out on the basis of Score/Rank at Joint Entrance Exam (JEE-Main)-2024 to be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in January 2024 and April 2024,” a Goa DTE statement said.

For admission to BPharm or the pharmacy programmes, the best aggregate score in physics and chemistry either at JEE Main 2024 and NEET UG will be considered. Aspirants seeking admission to the BPharm courses will have to apply for NEET UG or JEE Main.

“Admissions to Pharmacy B.Pharm. Degree course in the State of Goa in the year 2024-25 shall be carried out on the basis of Best aggregate Score in the subjects of Physics and Chemistry, either at JEE-Main 2024 OR NEET-2024. Accordingly, aspirants for admissions to B. Pharm. Course may opt to answer JEE-Main 2024 OR NEET-2024 or both,” it added.

The application for JEE Main 2024 session 1 is underway. The JEE Main 2024 exams will be held in January and April. While the NEET UG in 2024 is set to be conducted on May 5.
